You have given the librarian two powers he uses on his turn. Why not go for the shield and something else like everyone else and then save yourself 50pts.

drop podding dreads is not the best idea.
I would go for las/plasma backs to give more shots.
Also you lack any cc threat. You should take something to counter anything coming towards you.

Don't have the codex to hand to judge if the librarian character is worth it, but a couple of librarians with the power that gives your units within 6" a 5+ cover save is a really good way of keeping your vehicles alive. The power that makes him strength 10 is also really good.

Go with a librarian furiouso with wings the the +D3 attacks power to that it can move fast enough to get into combat and adds to your psychic defence. Its got a better move so more likely to get into combat, your current dread can be avoided pretty easily atm.

Just stick with 5 guys, no upgrades, in las/plas razorbacks. I don't like give them anything as you rarely want to get them out, and when they do step out they generally die from shooting before they can say 'for the emperor'. If you play a lot of horde, then give them flamers. Plasma guns on the razorbacks means that your razorbacks are effective at taking out terminators and other tough units.

I'd go for Predators with lascannon side sponsons for heavy support; vindicators have a really sort range compared with the rest of the army and if they get a weapon destroyed result, which is really common, will be useless.

I did play around with BA razorback spam a bit, but played at 2000-2500 points and can't find any good 1500 lists, but hears a pretty solid 2500 point list that may/may not help to get an idea of what I'm saying. Honour guard are there as I had a really big problem with counter assault playing razor spam and I allowed me to still have razorbacks!

thanks, guys. I didn't realize the Shield affected vehicles, too, so I did this O.O and checked the FAQ. I'm definitely taking that now, although everybody I play against will call shenanigans. I don't play against many hordes, a lot of armies around here are elite and mech. I'll take the las-plases on the Razorbacks. I wanted the Dread because I want something that can just kind of poop down out of the sky onto objective- guarding units sitting in the back, any suggestions for that? And I hadn't thought of that about the Vindicators. I will definitely be taking the lascannon Preds.

your basement

its all dandy about taking on mech and elite armies but what if the new kid comes around the block and has a horde

putting alot of flamers is wise with how much of a mech/ elite killer this list is

pod dreads are more likely going to crash (more so then i say they do happens to me every game i field them)

Warning: block of text

vindicators give you anti-horde, a threat range of 36' but if suffer a wd result they are mobile cover, 145 base

lascannon preds give you anti-mech, a 48' threat range but only has 2 lascannons that are meant to kill vehicles most of the time, 135 base

imo i lean towards the vindicators cuz even though they scatter they still can rip a tank, sure the vindicators range may be shorter but that doesnt mean it cant pop smoke or get a shield-save

and if it does take a wd then ill use it for my other asm to hide behind not a big deal

now it may seem im raising vindis but thats because ive never had the luxury of fielding lascannon preds but from what it looks like on paper and here on dakka their sole purpose is mech killer

where the vindi doesnt do as good as a job it can still do that

That single Drop Pod is going to come down unsupported and the Furioso cannot assault. It will be blown to pieces or immobilsied in the opponents turn and the threat has been dealt with.

I didn't see that you were using a drop pod; don't. With deep striking, you either go all out (drop pod army) or you use a couple of cheep expendable units (termi- side squads), not a 180 point dreadnought. Getting to the back of the board shouldn't be so hard, since all your vehicles are fast. If you really want something that can get to the back of the board and push things off objectives, go with a flamestorm cannon on a baal and outflank it. I've have some real good fun with one of these crunching though a load of lootas at the back of a board, both by tank shocking and burning them.
