I have played BT for a while now but have decided to play straight SM for a while.

My mate plays heavy mechanised IG ie 7 or 8 tanks and im losing heavily. any tips on a specific anti Mech Ig list please.


How do i import army builder lists or is it type it out each time.....?

Three ideas.

Bike army, might as well make it will Khan. You can dodge get close and kill. lasgun against T5 is fun which should be his main anti troop weapon.

Razorbackspam. Fire with Fire. You'll need the first shooting turn. So go full reserve if you are second. Making this with Khan would also be fun.

A few drop pods. You can land with 20 sternguard all with combimeltas. This gives you 4 dead tanks. Vulkan would be the dude if you have drop pods.

There's also the MOTF 6 dread list - stick ironclad and venerable in drop pods into his back line and MOTF with conversion beamer.

As a guard player...lots of drop podded or fast moving melta. Also, the rear armour of any IG tank is abysmal, so get some PF back there.

ok guys been looking into a drop pod immersion army attack plan.

if you had 2k points for a drop pod army what would you choose against IG?

Id like to use my iron clan, but apart from that my friend and i dont mind lots of "plays as"....

I would go with Vulkan.
Drop pod tac marines with melta+combimelta maybe missile or multimelta. Having a few 5 man tac squads drop podded means you can claim objectives whilst forcing more into your initial attack.
Then I think sternguard and command squads are the only choices that will work well drop podded. Drop podding dreads is a risky ordeal but sure go it.

Do you want go all drop pod/reserve army?
I would take a few to turn 1 melts of tanks and then some more mobile units from your own side.
