I've read soul hunter and noticed that the Night Lords Dreadnought in the novel Malcharion the War Sage mentioned that he did not want to be interred inside the dreadnought body since he technically fought and died with honor on the battlefield. Was just curious if it's a possibility some of the occupants of the loyalist dreadnoughts feel the same way when they were interred inside their dreadnought bodies after they thought they had already attained an honorable and meaningful death.

Just wanted to get your thoughts about this.

Loyalists will see internment as the ultimate honor. to fight for their emperor past their death. "Even in Death I still serve"

The traitors use Dreadnought caskets as punishment, they basically lock you in and turn the power off. Complete sensory depravation. Then they turn you back on and point you in the general direction of the enemy(although that doesn't stop the Dred from turning on his tormentors)



the Grey Knights are the one chapter that doesn't relish the idea of a Dreadnought. They would prefer to sleep beneath Titan for the rest of eternity once their burden is completed. as such, Dreadnoughts are made only out of dire need.

White scars were not too fond of a fate as a dread pilot. So its maybe more than one chapter who aren't looking forward to become
a walker that is switched on/off as needed. Others like the Iron Hands couldn't be more happy than this fusion of man and machine.

Bjorn the fell handed before his actual fate says something along the lines that being inside one is the worst fate... ohh the irony

I always viewed the dreadnought as being the "old soldier". They've for so long, they really just want their eternal rest, but see that they're are still needed and see they entombment as a part of their duty. They're not happy with being a dreadnought, but they won't complain.

I think that dreadnoughts have a long period when they first switch on, to come to terms with their internment. They can be quite angry at first.

In DOW2 Thule is dreadnaught'ed, and first thing he does is make a big dent in their starship.

Obviously for the game he recovers quickly, but sometimes a dreadnought will take a while before he calms down.

I've always thought that some marines really would not prefer to be stuck inside a dreadnought but their strict sense of duty leaves them no choice. Also malcharion from soul hunter seems to point out that fighting inside a dreadnought doesn't feel like real fighting at all since he can't feel his actual body doing the fighting and that it was more like controlling a machine that does the fighting for you, that there wasn't much glory to be earned there.
