As an avid space wolf player, I spend time creating me wolves and wonder,"How do they get all their facial hair and head hair in there?!" What do you guys think, they shave it? The Warp? Extra Helmet space? Maybe it's a fake and it's detachable any ways what do you think?

"Listen closely Brothers, for my life's breath is all but spent. There shall come a time far from now when our Chapter itself is dying, even as I am now dying, and our foes shall gather to destroy us. Then my children, I shall listen for your call in whatever realm of death holds me, and come I shall, no matter what the laws of life and death forbid. At the end I will be there. For the final battle. For the Wolftime."-Last words of Leman Russ the Primarch of the Space Wolves Chapter of Space Marines.

There's a reason Space Wolves with long bushy beards don't wear their helmets

Practically-speaking, yes beards and long hair would get caught in helmet seals and rebreathers, but this is a setting in which armies travel the breadth of the galaxy to fight at close quarters with chainsaws; practicality is not a major consideration.

Quite easy really. They'd pull a balaclava type hood over their heads which would hold the hair in place and then the helmet goes over the top. Just the same as guys with long hair and beards can put on full suits of armour for mediaeval fighting. In fact the hair and beard can even be plaited in a such a way as to provide extra padding for the head.

Their helmets are actually made of beard. They gel it around their head and then cover it with a very thin sheet of plastic so they don't look silly.

Arguing with some people is like playing chess with a pigeon. You can play the best chess in the world, but at the end of the day the pigeon will still knock all the pieces off the board and then gak all over it.

And beard hair is stronger.

Sure there was something in one of the horus heresy books about Abadon wearing his topknot as a scalp lock when he needs to wear a helmet.

Might even have been something in prospero burns about the wolves using leather balaclavaish caps to keep theirs out of the way. I could just be imagining that based on cadbrens post.

And now comes a converting idea: Space Wolf Helmet with opening for beard display. Someone get on that.

Maybe they all wear beards to cover up a manufacturing defect in their helmets.

The breathing filter in the helmet have been broken for thousands of years, so instead of going to Mars to ask the machine-god to fix it, they simply wet down their beards and suck the air through them like the firefighters of old....
