Anyone else notice business are less about the customer anymore. Not all but most. I live in an area were the closest GW store is 4 hours away. ( roughly). So when I do my 40k I'm stuck reiliing on misc different stores for my tools. Out of the 3 shops in my area only one sells GW products. And when I say sells I mean has a slit selection and what the do have us usually one box or in the paint section 2 or 3 of each color. In some cases 1.

Now this store is owned and run by a guy who is really into MTG. Buys sells online trying to be competitive seller. However he does stuck other things ie 40k, warhammer fantasy, DnD, and misc other hobby things. When you have an interest in other things he seems to come across as slightly annoyed at the interruption.

Example

I went to the store for some paint pots. Needed foundation adeptus, kemri, and gretchen green. And of course he's only got one of each. And all 3 have turned to jelly. I mention this to him and he starts of by lying to my face. Telling me well we just bought those when I know they've been on the wrack for some time.( I know this cause I go in there once a week and look over stuff I need. He also tells me there fine and all I have to do is buy em, take em home and put water in them and g e them a stir. I'm not disputing that you can revive paint this way. However I don't feel I should be paying full price for paint that I may or may not be able to revive. Told him so and asked if he could place an order. His response is why would I place an order for a product if I still have 1 on the shelf.

At that point I just put them back and bought another set of colors that I need in stead. Now I could be wrong since I'm knew to the hobby and all but I just can't justify that purchase or is response. Customer service would have been to take the pots appoligize for the inconvenience and tell me that I would place an order for the paint you need. As far as those paints would be consered I'd have an employee see if they could be revived or not.

I will say this I'm not looking forward to dealing with this guy if finecast is as much trouble as I hear it is. He doesn't have Any in his store yet. Still all the metal ones. I seriously dought he'll let me open multiple boxes just to get the one that isn't junk.

What do you all think. Should I have just bought the paint and seen if I could have revived it or did I make the right choice?

Negative. As a former customer service manager, I agree completely with what you did. I might have bought them had he offered a 10% discount, but as he didn't, I probably wouldn't go back there again. Honestly, of the selection is as bad as you say, you're probably better off ordering direct.

7500pts. 1750pts. 1500pts. 2000pts. 11000pts.

I really don't like it when I get a hold of old paint.

Yes, you can put water in it and somewhat revive it but there are two issues. First, it's a complete PITA. Second, it won't be as good as if you had bought a new pot.

However, about the customer service point of view... If he is unwilling to place an order for you, just do it yourself. There are many websites you can do it from including GW's.
