This is probably a really stupid question, but I'm having trouble finding the answer. I've read a lot about different genestealer combinations, with feeder tendrils and such, but when I look in my codex I don't see any of that anywhere. All that's listed for the genestealer brood biomorphs is a broodlord (and his biomorphs), scything talons, adrenal sacs and toxin sacs.

Where are all of the head combinations located? There are other things I've been having trouble finding, but perhaps an answer to my first question will answer the others.

I have the most recent edition of the Tyranid Codex.

feeding tendrils was the previous codex. Some options are no longer available in the new dex.

Just wait until you see all of the Carnifex options in the kit that disappeared in the new book.

If by a bunch of stuff you mean 'practically everything'? Yes. It has 2 variant carapaces, only one of which has rules now. There's 3 variant heads that no longer do anything - Enhanced Senses (used to give +1BS) and Tusked (gave +2A when charging rather than +1) and Acid Maw (reroll failed wounds in the first round of combat). It has two different tails, one gave +D3 attacks at half strength or +1 at full strength. Those are just options on the sprue that it lost.

wow. I should have played nids in fourth.

"As I looked into its dead black eyes, I saw the terrible sentinence it had in place of a soul. Behind that was the steel will of its leader. Further still I could feel its primogenitor coldly assessing me from the void. And looking back from the deepest recesses of the aliens mind I perceived what I can describe only as an immortal hunger.
We can slay the tyranids on our worlds, blast their fleets from space, grind their armies to torn and ruined fragments. But their hunger? That is beyond our ability to slay."

Nottingham (yay!)

To be fair, the Genestealer variant heads have something of an in-game role; a unit with loads of variant heads and carapace makes a fine Ymgarl unit.

Likewise, the Carnifex heads and carapace options no longer represented in the rules can be used to make a Tyrannofex or Tervigon look distinct enough without too much GS work for the conversion novice.

The Tyranids traded some of their biomorphs for getting named characters back.

Not anymore, really. There's far more difference now between a Genestealer and an Ymgarl Genestealer than just having feeder tendrils - the artwork in the new book doesn't even look like a Genestealer with feeder tendrils. They really are different beasts now.

True enough, but its a poor excuse for what happened to Carnifexes.

Which didn't work out at all compared to other codices. Those 'named characters' should do things for the army. For example, The Parasite of Mortrex? Should move Gargoyles to troops. If they were going to bring back named characters, they shouldn't have half assed it.
