I run a pretty vanilla list of space marines - Black Consuls 2nd Company.

I have just given my Captain a relic blade and have pushed my points up to 1906.

I am now contemplating on maxing out at 2000 points on all my armies and so am pondering the best use of 94 points.

I am not after tourny winning, just a bit of fun factor.

For the record I have

1 x Captain
3 x squads of 10 tac marines (heavy weapons include ML, PC & LC)
1 x squad 10 Scouts (2 combat teams of a. 5 boltguns - sarge with homer and b. 4 sniper and 1 HB)
1 x Devistators (ML, HB, MM, LC - Sarge has PF & Combi)
1 x Dreadnaught
1 x 5 Termies (1x AC, 2 x CF)
2 x Razorbacks (T/L LC & T/L AC)
1 x Whirlwind

So far thoughts are on either:
2 extra termies (1/w CF)
1 Predator
1 extra Razorback

Lol, I thought you were for some reason were making a 94 point list...

Same as Marzillus and I was going WHAT THE HELL, 98 POINT LIST!

If you're going for fun, how about a Land Speeder Storm and a Drop Pod? Give your terminators a safe box to come down in, and your scouts a fast transport to get to objectives with.
But if you really want to improve your list, get two rhinos for your tactical squds

Thanks guys. I have actually played a few games at sub 100pts!!! Sneakily done at work when I was a noob and excited. . . SM vs ORK with my shiny AOBR guys.

Hmm. This bears some thought. The only problem I have is that the drop pod won't match my fluff. . . My Black Consels being stranded on a lost planet. . .

Now don't get me wrong, I am not knocking your advice. In a way it is just another GW Idiosyncrasy really. . . BUT. . . There is no way I am going to go out and buy a Rhino! Not when they are the same price as Razorbacks. The issue is that then I would be OTT with my points!

oh well, maybe a Razorback then with t/l LC, SB and HK missile?

In terms of firepower though? How does a Predator w/ heavy bolter sponsons sound?

LS Typhoon? They are pretty useful and give you 2 smexy missiles a turn

nice list, what about to put your Devs squad same weapon, maybe MLs, for rest of points you can get 2 attack bikes with MMs, or predator with LCs sponsons.

If you give your dev. squad 2ML and 2LC then the rest to the tact. squads then it would work better and cost slightly more. Then taking an extra Razorback will add up to 94 pts hopefully.
Also give the dev. serg. to a tactical squad.

A librarian is always better than a naked 100 points captain.

Devastators are pretty horrible, especially when thee get all the weapon upgrades and are not focused on either AI or AV. The PF on the Sergeant is wasted, if they get into melee they're dead.

Why take 1 big scout squad and combat squad it instead of taking 2 squads and getting yourself a Sergeant for free?

Always take a transport for your Tacticals.

Thanks - good points. I will take on board and think about it for the long term.

My problem is that I just bought stuff that appealed to me as and when without thought of "best combination/list" and I am left with a less than optimal collection. Saying that, I enjoy playing as is - I don't have much chance to play with others, so play with myself. . . Hem Hem.

I don't want to really change models at this stage, but just top off my points at 2000 (for now.)

Having a "broken" list kinda fits into my fluff anyway so I don't mind too much.

If I get an opportunity to play more and need to tighten up my list, I will certainly use your suggestions.
