Hi there, total random question here but Google isn't really giving me the answers I need.

Basically, I have ended up with a wireless HP printer (I can get the precise model if necessary) in an area where, at the present time, I am not receiving a wireless connection. I'm currently running off a wired network. Because of that, my printer won't even start as it wants to be connected to a network before it even lets me go to its menu (it has a small iPhone-like touch screen on it that displays the menu). Is there any way at all that I can connect it directly to my laptop using some kind of cable?

We need to know the model and what ports it has first. I used to do printer repair fwiw

All wireless apparatus should have the possibility to be connected to a laptop or internet via cable. Normally you should be looking for a plug that has a USB on one end and then the printer's specific plug on the other. That should allow you to connect it directly to your computer.

As for not having any network, I don't think you can do anything about it without wireless connection.
