I don't like this: 2-50 man squads won't protect 8 warmachines.

Think about having detachments, not for the sake of any use, but to basically cock-block your opponents charges into artillery.

Its not though, its 3 blocks all in horde formation usually, 20 gunners, and the War Altar as a rear guard unit.

Used to have detachments but was not a fan. Sly opponents would just charge the smaller detachments so the Parent unit could not react, wipe out and overrun into my war machines.

MY GUNLINE USES MOST OF THIS LIST BUT HAVE 2 ARCH LECTORS, 1 IN BIG UNIT OF HALBARDIERS TO CAST UNBREAKABLE. ALWAYS USE DETACHMENTS. FLEE IF THEY GET CHARGED. HAVE AT THE BACK OF YOUR ARMY A VOLLEY GUN. GREAT FOR REAR ATTACKERS LIKE DWARF MINERS OR SKAVEN GUTTER RUNNERS AND WILL GIVE ANYONE FOLLOWING A FLEEING UNIT THRU YOUR LINES A HARD TIME.

Well in less they over run into the volley gun. I wouldn't use detachments either but i would try to get another block of infantry maybe drop the handgunners for some more halbardiers. I would also try to fit in a steam tank as its so flexible. But be careful of skaven and beastmen with this list they both have items that make you roll a 4+ to fire on a turn.
