Hey all my fellow dakkites!

Just wanted to share with ya'll something I figured out a while back...
I was wanting to wash some of my models b/c i've seen the results of a good wash over a good paintjob, but I am currently just with a part-time job, and GW's washes are way to expensive for me, so I was trying to find an alternative. I started trying to make my own washes mixing acrylics in with water, and have found that if you mix your paint and water in about a 30%/70% ratio, it comes out pretty good, and works as well as GW washes, i think.... If ya'll have any questions or comments, feel free to discuss or whatever... Hope ya'll have a great day, and remember, it is the day the Lord has made, so rejoice and be glad in it... and roll some dice

Interesting idea I suppose, though then you'd also have to use up some of your paints

More for dipping than washing but a tried and true method is the use of Wood Stainers that are like $5 for a big can.

Much less subtle than washes but gets the job done

Just an FYI washes and glazes are common tools in a painters tool box. It's nice to see people discovering it and sharing thier knowlege though.

Congratulations... You've discovered the common paint wash, if you add some Flow Aid to your mix you'll get better results.
