I need help to choose between Bad Moons and Snakebites. I know Bad Moons are real ard gitz with loads of teef and the snakebites are old uns that fight gud an propa'. However I am thinking Bad Moons look more aesthetically pleasing but I would go overboard with Yellow on the vehicles so they'd look like IF. Help!? D:

If you use a lot of Mud and Sepia washes it can give a dark dirty yellow. What I did was that I only painted the odd armour plate in yellow and have the rest in metallics. just remember to add plenty of bronze bits just to break things up.

Yellow looks really good if its done proper, if you rush it will look meh... even for orks. Yellow is the hardest color to paint since it covers other colors so bad. The success with yellow lies in many many thin coats of paint.

The beauty of orkz is there is the option of your own colours. I have my own clan colours for my guys and the fact that you can pain one mini at a time and the army looks like a band of scumbags lol

Get a spray paint yellow and paint all the bits you want yellow individually with spray. It will save a lot of time and look more smooth. Even if you don't get all the spots perfect you can always touch up with yellow paints. Using a wash will really help them look good too. Either devlan mud or sepia as someone mentioned.

What I heard one guy did is that if you wash yellow with a green wash. It looks like a really warm fleshy green. Brilliant for airbrush users, as it make speed painting really easy.

i would do some kind of a custom clan/army and make some kind of fluff as to how they are now a new clan and mix and match different color schemes for different units for example im right now working on burna boyz wearing almost all black and orange skin and my ard boyz are painted with all metal other than their guns being red and accents bleached bone and boltgun metal

I mixed my yellow with some white and it helps it to cover better. I you dont the brush strokes really pop out.

The Foundation range's 'Iyanden Darksun' gives a nice solid basecoat, can then be highlighted with a brighter yellow.
