Ancient Ultramarine Venerable Dreadnought

Hello chums!
Im notoriously fussy when it comes to films, but I just watched one that I found to be thoroughly entertaining.
The Guard, by British director John Michael McDonagh.
Its like In Bruges, but better. And I enjoyed IB too.
I recommend you check it out, then come back on this thread and let me know what you think.
And if anyone else has seen it, what did you think of it?
I thought it was extremely funny, and far more intelligent than I first gave it credit for.

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels. |

It has 94% on Rotten Tomatoes so it sounds promising.

Yeah, it would probably break the universe if there were two MacGrubers.

The Dread Evil Lord Varlak

I saw this the other week. It's a really good movie. I don't think it's as good as In Bruges, but it is very funny.
The line at the end about Waco is just about my favourite line ever.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”
Adam Smith, who must have been some kind of leftie or something. |
