Want to get into Aeronautica Imperialis. Anyone already play want to play a game sometime soon? I live near woodfield mall in schaumburg but i would drive anywhere 45 min away to play a game. Anyone near my area also want to start up aeronautica imperialis. To view a free rulebook google: "Aeronautica Imperialis scribd". its a pretty quick game to pick up. after reading through it once I got a good idea of how to play. Gunna be ordering 6 Ork fightas and 2 Ork fighta bommers.

I've been thinking about getting some stuff for AI, i havent read thru the rule book yet, but i will be soon. Is the bunker too far out of the way for you?

nah i don't think its too far. I'd really like to play the game. what do you think you would play? Im starting to think i might do imperial guards instead but im not sure. maybe we could get a few others into the game

Ok well I just put an order in for 6 ork fightas and 2 ork fighta bombas just to let you know. I'm sure it will take a month or so to get so take ur time. I also bought the maneuver cards that you guys could borrow when we play. I didn't get a book though lol. There is an incomplete online version of both books though. Just type in the name of the book in google and add scribd at the end. I'm cool with whatever points my models will let me go up to 150 points-ish.

captainsolace- whatever you can buy is good. If you can afford something like 4 tau baracuda or 4 thunderbolts (two come in each pack, so thats two packs) thats 25 british pounds without shipping and what not. thats not too bad and thats 100 points right there if you upgrade a little.

Yep, I saw the book, 2 thunderbolts and a marauder sounds good to me

Would it be ok to use converted WWII models, alongside FW ones? like a converted P-38 thunderbolt?

Still cant decide between IG to go with what i have in 40k, or Tau, my very first army.. but I guess that if Cap is going to go with IG, ill grab a Tau airforce.

yeah thats fine with me captain. I think the bases they come with make it easier to keep track of changing altitudes and speed though. also what city/town do you live in near the subrubs?

strat-i think they both look cool i like both the thunderbolts and baracudas a lot. eventually ill probably get 4 thunderbolts or two thunderhawk gunships so i can let people use one of my squadrons to get them in the game.

Okay so battle bunker will be our shop to play games at. Like I said i have ordered my models now=6 fightas, 2 fighta bommers. maybe we could shoot for a time in December for our fist game. Before Christmas. If you wait until ordering in december you'll never get your order mailed its too busy. if you can try to get any one you've played with/friends to join in that would be cool. we'll get a group together and knock out a few games.

this is really a under-rated game i think. it looks awesome and not a lot of info is out on the web about it. i think for the most part people just haven't heard about it. i'm gunna post a link of a simple scenario i i think we should do first. just a dog fight=kill your enemy. classic 40k

A very useful thing i found are these maneuver cards. you can print them out and they are way batter fitted and thought out than the regular cards that come with the books.

I might have to wait alittle But, i'll place an order for a tau fleet by next month. Im wondering, are we going to be doing anything for ground scenery? air bases ect?

i'd like to get into ground scenery/bases but i'd like to see if all of us can get models and what not first before we move into deeper scenarios. I also don't have the book to look at scenerios involving bases and scenery and what not.i started making some small scale ork buildings though for fun with plastic card. IMO scenery makes the game a lot more fun. thats all i was thinking forge world sells the ground defences and landing pads but that costs a lot and i'd rather get more models to play with before spending money on that. maybe we could play a simple game or two and then all agree on scenery/ objectives to make the game more fun? whatever you guys suggest im down with. i'll also have a book by then and maybe i could scan a bunch of pages and e-mail it to you guys
