I saw the Emperor vs Sauron and thought about this. Is the force anything like a psyker's? Would a Jedi Master and a CQC Trained Psyker be able to go toe to toe? Or is this amazingly one-sided?
I honestly think skilled Jedi Masters could kill novices or even seasoned force of psykers but not a group of men like Eisenhorn.

Psyker-Changes reality according to his will, strength and training.
Force user-Manipulates relaity according to his will, strength and training.
I think a psyker would have the edge in mental fighting but the jedi could slice 'em up if they were good enough.
That said this thread will likely go on for another 3/4 pages and reach no actual conclusion...

I just wondered about everyone else, because I thought the Force was pretty similar to Psykers, even the Sith's force lighting.

Hmm I would have to go with the psykers on this one as a trained psyker would have mental defences that a jedi probably wouldn't be able to break through to do their mind trick on them. As far as straight up cc I think it would really depend on the individual as some inquisitiors admit they aren't the most skilled fighters(thats why they have henchemen afterall) but some could be. The mental capability of psykers seems to be more varied than jedi there is all kinds of different psykers that have the ability to do different things while jedi seem to be able to just move stuff or trick people minds along with the occasional lightning. I also would be curious to see what happens when a jedi tries to deflect a bolt round with his lightsaber and have it blow up in his face.

I don't know why, but this made me almost fall off my chair laughing.

Anyways, I think it'd go to whoever strikes first. Unless the force and the empyrean are similar enough that the master of one can feel the workings of the other I don't see a major advantage to either.

With Chaos, Tzeench would probably turn your hands, feet and face into
scrotums, complete with appropriate nerve endings. Then Khorne would
force you and all your friends to fight to the death using your new
scrotal appendages. Once they get tired of that, you get tossed to
Slaanesh who <censored by order of the Inquisition>, until you finally
end up in Nurgle's clutches and he uses you as a loofah.

Erect your mental defenses all you want. Who needs "mind trick" when you have "force choke"?

And before that it was Tyranids vs. Galactic Empire, and before that IOM vs Galactic Empire. These threads always end the same. A few people attempt to rationalize things, the fan boys try to drown them out, and the mods go commissar on the threads.

Really, I think it would depend on the psyker/Jedi.

I have a bad feeling about this.

An Alpha level psyker can rip apart a Titan in an eyeblink, however they also tend to go mad.

The kind of psykers that an Inquisitor uses as henchmen aren't alpha level, they may not even be gamma level.

Jedi Masters are probably on a par with beta level psykers, so I'd say Jedi in this particular scenario.

Id say send in old zogwort against any jedi, he would just turn them into a squig and loot that Lightsaber.

that would be cool if you had looted lightsabers instead of chainswords.

Loot a powersword. Some models are, basically, lightsabers (being a blade of pure energy, not a metal blade surrounded by a lightning field).

However, a Force-using squig might be terrible, indeed.

In all honesty, though, this really comes down to the individuals involved. Not every Inquisitor is a psyker and some, in fact, refuse to use them, believing them all to be witches and heretics. Other Inquisitors are, basically, Chaos Sorcerers. Most fall somewhere in the middle, with many being utterly non-psyker, and some be very powerful psykers.

Psykers themselves are obviously psychic, but could be gamma, delta, kappa, beta... zeta grade. Whatever. Depends on the relative power of the psyker in question.

Same story with the Jedi. Some are kick-ass, some are not.

Psykers would win as their powers are normally (at least in the case of combat psykers) more offencive. The Jedi powers aren't focused on destruction (they can subdue but to kill with the force would be to dark sided for them).

It depends on one factor; do Jedi need to take Psychic tests, and are they therefore affected by Perils of the Warp.

You'd need some Jedi stats, for example: Yoda: WS10, BS8, S5, T3, A8, I7, W3, Ld10 AS: 6+/2++. Force powers: Block, push, pull, Sense the Dark side is strong in this one.

I am simply going to say that 40k beats Star Wars in general. Let me finish. The scale and scope of things in Warhammer 40k is always more powerful, more numerous and bigger than Star Wars. The Star Wars militias and armies cannot match the Imperial Guard and certainly not the Space Marines. Star Wars have no equivalent to the Guard's Super-Heavy tanks or the Imperial Titan Legions. The one possible exception to the rule would be space stations and space ships as I don't know enough about the size of Imperial Navy to compare.
When it comes to Psykers vs Jedi Masters, it might depends on whether we're talking trained Imperial Psykers who would have to carefully channel their energy or the Chaos type who can go all out without worrying about losing their souls to the warp, plus there's always a chance that the Psykers will blow up or summon/transform into a Daemon or something anyway, so...
Dunno, toss a coin: Head, Jedi; Tails, Psykers; Edge, the warp swallows them all and the Chaos Gods get to feast on Yoda. Though Yoda might pull a Draigo and beat them up...
