Here is the dead marine from Space Hulk. I honestly think it is quite a shame that he plays such a small part in the game- he's not even an objective marker. But he's a great mini none-the-less. Someone told me that he was a captain (which is unfounded in the fluff) so I decided to paint him in NMM gold to match some of the classic Blood Angels captains.

I put him up on Coolmini for anyone who cares to vote.

This is the sort of model I love, the kind that can really bring a sort of unique flavor to a board that is designed to be something other then a jungle/field. One of these in an urban setting or corridor can really, to me, make a game all the more interesting as there is now reason to be playing. Shame they do not do more. Anyway, great paint job! It looks, I don't want to say this, painted. As in an oil painting or some other sort of two dimensional painting, which is pretty cool

He's almost, but not quite, an objective marker. Really, he's just scenery that sits next to the objective marker (which is played by a grail). He only shows up in one scenario, and doesn't really do anything in particular (he blocks a square, but his square is off to the side where no one will really care about it.

But in the end, I got an extra cool mini in my box of Space Hulk- and that's great.

I've been thinking about casting a copy, drilling out the head and using him as a wounded but alive marine.

Coolest conversion I've seen of him swapped out the head for a Space Wolf head and put a wolf at his side- as a pet. Completely turned the dead marine into a Wolf Lord on his throne.

That is awesome painting! I have one mounted on a plinth as a statue just painted brass but I really like this one.

Nice, that conversion must have been very impressive. I can only imagine how long it took to remove the dozens of blood drops and chalices on the dead terminator model.

Looks pretty sweet. Nice to see a model used for a nonstandard purpose.

I'm actually trying to remember the extent of it. I think that some of the designs stayed, but when painted in SW colors, they just sort of worked. So it would have become a goblet of ale rather than blood.
