So, I'm thinking about trading for some Necrons in preparation of the release of the new codex coming out in the next couple months, but I'm not really sure what to get. As most know, what is powerful in one edition of the Codex is often weak in the next. Based on what folks have seen of the rumors for the Necron Codex, what do you think will be the models from the existing line to invest in?

Man, I wish there was a real Black Library where I could get a Black Library Card and take out Black Library Books without having to buy them. Of course, late fees would be your soul. But it would be worth it. - InquisitorMack

Numberless Necron Warrior

Years ago I bought that large Necron Box that had 48 Warriors in it. Only half are completely finished. The rest I painted up but left without arms figuring that the new warriors might have options instead of Gauss Flayers. If they do, I am hoping that the warrior boxes will have options in them and I can put the optional weapons on the warrior bodies. If not, I can easily enough just throw the flayers on them. But I would like to keep my options open. I know it is a long shot. We aren't even sure if they will look like the old ones so they might not match at all. But here is to hoping.

Warriors are going to be a safe bet. If you want Necrons, get those. I have serious doubts that the Monolith will change as well, so you can probably grab one of those. I'd hold off on everything else until we see what GW is doing.

If it's plastic, it's worth getting. Those are generally not going to change anytime soon. Get em while they're cheap.

I've just finalized one deal for 3 boxes worth of Warriors and Scarabs, 3 Destroyers, 2 Lords, 2 Wraiths, 5 Immortals, and 3 Tomb Spyders. From what I've read of the rumors, it sounds like Scarabs will be the preferred FA over Wraiths, so I don't know how much use I'll get out of them. Also, the rumors about the new Tomb Spyders sound like they'll be plastic and substantially bigger - I hope I'll still be able to use the old metals for something useful.

I'm angling on another deal that would get me a bunch more Warriors and some Monoliths, but that's still a ways out.
