This is my first ever forum post so please bare with me
I have been collecting Tau now since they were first released back in early 2000's. Although I started collecting then I didn't start fully getting into Tau until their second codex Tau Empires was released. Since then I haven't stopped playing as them. I find that they can be such a fun, and rewarding army to play with, and also punishing when not played correctly (especially when you forget to jump your commander out of charge range of a squad of assault terminators)

Anyway, moving closer towards what this post is really about! Since I have been collecting Tau now for so long, and with my painting significantly improving since I first started painting, I have decided it is time for a complete repaint of my Tau army, while posting regular updates on how my project is coming along. The colour scheme I have gone for is red and cream (much like the Blood Ravens). I can post a painting guide for how I achieved the colour scheme I have gone for up if people request it!

So here are the first few models I have finished painting. Enjoy!

Crisis Battle Suit 1

Ethereal

Fire Warrior Squad Ukos (12 Fire Warriors)

I will keep you posted as I progress through my army. I am currently working on a Devilfish and finishing off my commander and 2nd Crisis Battlesuit.

Please let me know what you think since all feedback can help me paint better models later.

Enjoy!!

Yey i can see them now

The red looks good, but could do with a highlight to counther the shading. The same goes for the bone/parchement/cream colour, the shading looks good but needs a highlight

I like the bases they are very cool. How did you do them?

Thank you for the advice. The bases were actually really simple. I wanted them to look like they were standing on paving. to create the grouting (space between the paving) small v shaped grooves were cut into the base. P.V.A was then applied to some areas and then sprinkled with sand. The base was then painted Adaptus Battlegrey. Since the bases are already stextured they were then drybrushed with codex grey followed by a very light dry brush of skull white. Watered down black is then painted into the line. It was really impressed when i tried it, since its so simple yet gives such a good effect.

The main plan for my army is as follows:

- Shas'O stays with first crisis suit squad.
- 2 Devilfish are used to carry 2 squads of fire warriors around to capture markers
- 3rd Fire warrior squad provides covering fire
- Pathfinders sit back and 'light' stuff up
- Hammerheads + crisis suits move in with Devilfish to provide support where needed.
- Kroot are used as a counter charge unit, where needed the most. My main use for the Kroot recently has to be to keep them back with my 3rd Firewarrior squad and Pathfinders to counter any flanking units.

So that's my army!! Please feel free to comment on it as any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
