Ok so Mega Nobz have S&P and all have power claws. With that being said why do they have stick bombs? They are going to go at I 1 anyways.

Hm... Well, they can be used against vehicles, but their Klaws would be INFINITELY better.

Might they affect initiative when rolling for sweeping advance? I've never been clear on what initiative value you use - whether you include weapons, wargear, modifiers from cover, and whatnot.

In sweeping adv. you always take whatever the highest number is of the majority of models doing the sweeping adv.

Okies... I give up. I need to read the sweeping advance section more clearly to answer this thread, and my rulebook is currently 1,000 km away. This is because I:

A - don't know whether assaulting through difficult terrain affects the initiative at which sweeping advance is resolved
B - don't know whether power klaw initiative modifiers affect the initiative at which sweeping advance is resolved

Because if:

A = YES and B = YES, then the stikkbombz would make no difference as the Meganobz would sweeping advance with initiative 1
A = YES and B = NO, then the stikkbombz would allow the Meganobz to sweeping advance with normal initiative value
A = NO and B = YES, then the stikkbombz would make no difference as the Meganobz would sweeping advance with initiative 1
A = NO and B = NO, then the stikkbombz would make no difference as the Meganobz would sweeping advance with normal initiative value.

When making a sweeping adv. always count the initiative value from the model's profile without any modifiers.

Good to know. ^_^

The stikk bombs are because the codex was written in 4th edition, when you could choose to switch your powerklaw off and strike at Initiative.

I thought the codex was written for 5th edition because of the assault on black reach box?

It was written with 5th edition in mind, but was released in 4th, so there were a few rules when it was released that were a little screwy, and then when 5th edition kicked in, those screwy things suddenly made sense and various other things (like Meganobs having Stikk Bommz) suddenly didn't.

It's what happens when you make a codex to straddle editions.
