Huh. Never really thought about it before. Whatever they do, they should keep the hrud as alien as possible. The fish thing helps with that.

Agreed. I prefer these to the Skaven In Space some want.

I'd rather have the Hrud be Space Skaven, but that's just my opinion. The fish thing is just wierd, and not really that scary in the scope of what 40K already has.

You could make them rat - fish - human - tyranid nom nom nom's.

But. The tau idea is interesting.

As long as they are not skaven in space. We all know how the squats turned out.

I've always wanted GW to do something with the Hrud, maybe Tau Auxiliary. IIRC, they wanted to make the Hrud pretty much IG with Skaven instead of Humans a while back, but decided against it for some reason( Prolly because it was too much like guard.)

Light Infantry, poison bombs, bio rat swarms, snipers, single wheeled tanks like that thing from Star Wars prequels. Rat Orge like assault troops, lots and lots and lots of slaves. Suicide bomb squads, Warp based weapons that can backfire? You can make them very unique.

It was done when 40k started branching off from WHFB to become more independent. Hrud are now Space Fish with cloaking powers rather then Space Skaven.

Yeah and I think that's a huge mistake.

They're not fish. More like cockroaches or the "Prawns" from District 9. They infest ships by living in the walls. They prefer to be unnoticed so I don't see them taking to the battlefield.

they also have planets and planet wide migration that could destroy worlds or even craft worlds, they are technically allied with Umbra, they have very powerful technology (they have plasma warp guns) and they have the ability too move between worlds, they adapt too most environments they can cause rapid ageing and I said their heads look like a deep sea fishes head.

space is an ocean and hrud are its fish.

they are plenty scary - they can destroy whole planets without lifting a single finger (rapid ageing too anyone who is near a hrud migration)

Went from ratty to generally creepy in my opinion....
