well awhile ago at a local tourney i saw a trio of thunder fire cannons absolutely destroy a infantry marine army. (note there were some lucky 3+ cover saves) but still. then i thought hmm if three groups of four blast templates could tear marines a new one what about three groups of six blast templates. each unit would be supported by units of nine lootas and probably have some buggies around for a 4+ cover save and a big mek ridin around fixin up damage. just wondering does it seem probable of a bit gimmicky

Zooka's are pretty effective. Actually, anything but flamers, I'd give to KKs, just beacue they have the best BS, and it seems a bit of a waste.

Instead of a Big Mek for repairs, I'd suggest a couple of SAG Meks, for some extra blast goodness, and maybe use 2 double Skorcha Dredds for troops, then. For repairs, replace one of those Loota squads with a small/medium size unit of Burnas, with 3 Meks- more durable, more dangerous, and more chances to repair with 3 instead of just 1.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

Actually, burnaz are not durable at all. Have a big mek with a KFF repairing your vehicles, if anything. Kanz are squadrons, so you are only going to repair weapon destroyed anyways, immobilized kills them. So those extra rolls are hardly worth dropping lootaz. I second the Dredds though, but only one skorcha. Two skorchas tend to flame you out of charge range more often than not.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.

I second the grotzookas. Tons of wounds. And, if you're lucky, they can even pop a rhino.

Zookas are not only awesome but they add insult to injury, fluffwise...

"I am a Terminator, clad in the Emperor's best battle armour. I have lived for hundreds of years, and am invincible behind my Stormshield and my faith in...,"

FooomPh! FooomPH

"Brother Articulus! Report! "

"Brother Longwindidus has been blown apart sir, by a compacted mass of squig beer cans, with a thermos of Nitroglycerine in the middle. Even his mighty Terminator Armour didn't save him"

TDA suit: Multibillion credits (or whatever the IOM uses for money)

Grotzooka Ammo : 10 minutes with a trash compacter.

Expression on the Chapter Master's face - Priceless..

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts

Thanks for the replies and i love the terminator story ascalam. but next question the obvious thing to do would have a lot of boyz toting behind but in some recent expirements i have tried doing a hybrid with speed freaks and i have found people focus so much fire on the kanz that they have practically ignored the eight units of truckers. (no battle wagons because ilike moving 18") so would that be plausible in experienced gaming groups or is it just a quick hood wink. i mean really 9 trash compactors or some decent fighters (always fight in pairs to over come.)

I have noticed recently that people have been making lists that are successful using a combination of mech-orks with killa kans. I personally have not tried it but it makes sense of having multiple threat units in your army makes your opponents really think about what they should focus their firepower on. If they focus on the kanz and your boyz in the trukks make it across then they have a whole mess of pks that they are going to have to deal with.

haha, i usually say things like that during battle;

Hey look, your million year old farseer died from a piece of ork poo and a screw in his head. Shot by a tiny green infantile thing called grot.

LOOK!! a shameless self-promotion! (gasp!)

HIDING IN THE METAL BAWKSES!!

My funniest moment was when I hit a Fortune Jetseer unit with a Manticore missile. The Farseer was the only casualty.

Farseer: "I sense a great danger coming, just about.... now."
BOOM!
Warlock (Who took cover): "Well, at least she was dead accurate!"

I don't see what you gain from fielding Kanz over Boomwagons or Big Gunz. The whole idea seems to be based on you opponent picking his target priority wrong, because he is scared of kan walls. It's perfectly fine to ignore Kanz in that kind of lists, as they will arrive much later than the the rest of the army.
