I've been wondering this for a while.

The Imperial Bombard is based on a leman russ chassie yet it has the same armour rating as a chimera which is FRONT: 12 SIDE: 10 REAR: 10

the fact it drives slower, only been able to move 6 inchs a turn and has no other weapon apart from a upgrade for a pintle mounted heavy stubber or storm bolter.

While the main gun is powerful it requires a turn to reload per shot and must not move duirng reload time making it an easy target.

I'm a little conflicted as I am thinking of buying one.

Elysian Drop Troops 1500pts

Renegades & Heretics 2056pts

Beacuse it's not supposed to be a line battle tank.

It's supposed to sit in the rear with the gear and blow stuff up from miles away Ideally place it behind some nice thick LOS blocking walls.

For the record 12, 10,10 is average to decent.

10,10,10 is low :( The ork equivilent is 11,10,10 with vastly shorter range and power

The Viletide: Daemons of Nurgle/Deathguard: 7400 pts
Disclples of the Dragon - Ad Mech - about 2000 pts
GSC - about 2000 Pts
Rhulic Mercs - um...many...
Circle Oroboros - 300 Pts or so
Menoth - 300+ pts

Also, it looks like its a trimmed-down Russ chassis. It might be the perspective, but it looks narrower than a normal Russ, and also, its missing the hull mount. It just seems like its hollowed out or whatnot.

"I went into a hobby-shop to play m'self a game,
The 'ouse Guru 'e up an' sez "The Guard is weak and lame!"
The Chaos gits around the shelves they laughed and snickered in my face,
I outs into the street again an' grabbed my figure-case."
Oh it's "Angels this" an' "Space-wolves that", and "Guardsmen, go away!";
But it's "Thank you for the ordnance" when the Guard begins to play,
O it's "LOOK AT ALL THE ORDNANCE!" when the Guard begins to play.."

On moon miranda.

It actually looks like a weird hybrid of the chimera and LR chassis. It's got the sponson bulges and forward hull configuration reminiscent of a Chimera, but the dimensions of a Leman Russ chassis.

that said, it's clearly not entirely either, nor is it intended to take direct enemy fire. As is, 12/10/10 is entirely adequate.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.

The Chassis is not only what counts. You can add and remove armour. You really should remove Armour from SPArt Vehicles, if you want them mobile and dont burn your whole fuel without sense.
