Hello Dakka! I need help from more experienced players..
I think title says all. I want footdar (not a single transporter) army. I have no experience in that regard. Which configuration is better? Wraithguard (plus screening ofc) or mass avengers/guardians only?
Also what is favorable in HS slot? Wraithlords or WW? Points are 1750~2000.

Only go with a wrathguard army if you have money pouring out of your pockets. Those models are extremely expensive

I would recommend rangers/jetbikes/dire avengers/guardians over wraithguard as troops. Just too expensive, and quite ineffective with a threat radius of only 18".

For heavy support, if you're running the avatar, I'd probably go 2 'Lords and 3 WW. If no Avvy, 9 WW all the way (with no avvy, Eldrad + Farseer means Guide on all of them. With Avvy, he needs fortune support, so Eldrad doesn't get to chill in the backfield with the WW's.)

Regardless of which you choose, Harlequins are a must. Too good not to use...

DA's, guardians, rangers and bikes for troops with the avatar for fearless as an HQ and use the HS slots for 2 wraithlords and a war walker squadron with scatter lasers imo, best setup I've used thus far as a starting point.

Are you considering Bikes/Vypers part of a "footdar" army, because otherwise, you're going to stumble across the whole issue that running a pure foot list means you have a poor ability to actually saturate toughness/threat values...

As an example, it's impractical to shoot AT weapons at Guardians, or the Avatar should you actually want one. Wraithlords have 3 wounds and 2 AT weapons. They also won't have cover unless you shackle some units to watch them, by merit of you not running vehicles. Thus if someone has a mass of missiles or lascannons, or even Dark Lances/Venoms...guess what they'll shoot first? The stuff that threatens them at range most.

Otherwise...good luck........yeah.
