Oozing Spawning Vat

Hi guys,
This is my first post. I have been playing my Tyranids against my friend's Dark Eldar, and I've come up against a confusing rules case. Basically, he has a bunch of raiders (hovering) and I have a unit of gargoyles (flying). Each of these can move over the other player's units because they're flying, however I have been trying to block his raiders with my gargoyles. Is there something in the 40k rules that deals with this? Specifically he thinks he can he move through my unit of gargoyles but I think they block movement like both units weren't flying. Any help would be great!
Thanks,
Linto

The rules allow skimmers and jump infantry allow those units to move over other units. There is nothing saying you can't pass over another flyer, skimmer, or jump infantry.
In short, yes your opponent was allowed to move his raider over your gargoyles.

As above. The rules allow you to move over other units, ignoring them totally, and does so without any distinction as to what type of unit. So you are unable to block mobile skimmers from moving, at all

You're posibly thinking of MtG, where creatures with Flying cannot be blocked except by other creatures with Flying (or Block as Flying) - 40k doesnt follow that mechanic

No, it just physically looks like one would block the other.

Ah ok, fair enough. Also remember 40k (standard) doesnt have "flyer" - theyre a whole other ball game!

The models aren't going to show the exact position of a soldier/vehicle/whatever. It could be that the Raider is using its superior speed to boost a little higher/faster than the Gargoyles for just a second, thus surpassing them. The Gargoyles throwing themselves at the Raider to block its advance would be represented by you launching an assault with them. Abstraction
