My Personal Grey Knights. I actually sold my original army, and finally had time to repaint it!

I tried to tie in a red/white theme on everything, and sprung for some serious bases.
Thanks for looking

Looks good. Good use of the airbrush to create really characterfull highlights. Is there is a reason why you opted for less iconography then you can get in the boxes (I'm thinking about the terminator and strike squad shoulders in particular)?

The use of grey instead of silvers makes the reds and white pop even more in comparison, good color choice there. I like the deep shading your managed to get ont he colors as well. The only thing that I can really fault on these, is the occasional mould line on the stormbolters.

Great color scheme, yet the Rhino's look so obviously airbrushed that it looks almost sloppy. Also the way you painted the windows on the stormraven looks odd. That technique doesn't work on surfaces that large imo. For the rest, great OSL, especcially on the helmet, and the swords on the knights look great.

Well weathered tanks. That is awesome.

But that stormraven! Dude. It's epic.

A note about the stormraven canopy and turret. I have seen quite alot of people avoiding the clear and just painting over them. I have found a better solution, however, that you might find more detail oriented. Paint the pilot and servitor white. Paint all of the cockpit inside white. That's done. Then paint the inside of the glass with asurmen blue wash. You'll now have blue windshields, and a highly visible crew, and natural lighting will do all of the shading for you. I even used scorpion green to paint HUDs on the insides of the one I'm working on before washing it, and from the outside they appear a nice bright green. Once it dries you add the wash and presto! Blue glass, green digital HUDs, and a visible crew laying down a ton of flying tank hurt.

i chose "clean shoulders" for brighter colors, and more airbrush abuse. Its more fun...and its just a side projet.
Thanks for commenting

I actually think this looks too airbrushed, flat, and sloppy. Your power weapons are nice, as are the human heads, but some of this just looks really cheap or overwrought. It's much worse on the vehicles.

The GK with the Storm Shield and purple Power Weapon looks great, but the rest look really blotchy. Note the fine detailing on him and the lack of it on virtually everything else.

After seeing your daemon army in person, I am not surprised that this looks the way it does... incredible. I love that every model feels the same. You are an inspiration, and a distraction.

I like the grey as well, great use of weathering and colors. The only thing that throws me off is the eyes and the glow...just a personal preference.

I don't know why but the overuse of the airbrush kills it for me. Nice, but done too quickly with little effort.

On the vehicles, in some spots the airbrushing was a hair too much (the rhinos mostly). On the actual miniatures, they're like the best I've ever seen. The glowing eyes are spectacular.

i hate to be taht guy, but im going to be TFG.

i love the skills with an airbrush, i would love to attend a class on how you are doing what you are doing with an airbrush. you are amazing at its use.

however, the tanks and storm-raven look flat. yes they have amazing weathering and scarring, but there is little definition between a raised area and a recess. its confusing for me to look at. There is also very little iconography, on any of the vehicles, and its kind of disappointing to see models so well painted without any badging. even a little scribbling from place to place on the dread knights would go a long way to personalizing them.

it also seems like the recesses on all of the models cry out to be washed, but thats just my opinion. i do enjoy dark recesses and brighter base coloring, thats a personal preference.

on the infantry models, the OSL is great, but a bit overdone in some places. I noticed on a few of the models, its like almost the entire top of their head is lighted blue, but the eyes are underneath a raised edge, preventing the light from traveling upwards. dont get me wrong, it looks great, but doesn't make a lot of sense.

with all of that said, you are still obviously much better with an air brush than i will EVER be, and probably a much better painter with conventional brush and paint that i will ever be. these are just some observations i wanted to point out.

last one is, those bases are phenomenal. i love the dread knight bases! how did you make them? what was it out of? over all, really good work.
