Hello fellow dakkanauts,

very soon I'm going to be starting work on a warhound titan (the forgeworld kit...I don't have the patience to scratch build one) and i am wondering what the best way to transport it around is. I plan on magnetizing the arms so I don't have to worry too much about them but are there any good cases that are large enough to fit something like the warhound? Any direction would be greatly appreciated.

I would have done that if the creator had the capability to do a warhound kit.

You could try making your own trays for it. Something link http://www.figurepainters.com/tips-tutorials/2011/8/17/how-to-build-foam-storage-trays-for-miniatures.html only bigger so they would fit the titan and you could put them in a custom box of some type. You can get the foam in 6" sheets that would work well for a titan.

thanks, I'll look into it. I found a company in the UK that sells aluminum cases and custom foams for titans but they are a little spendy. Hoping I can find a good alternative to that here in the states.

It has simple shapes that you can make overlap to form larger, more detailed, cutouts. This would of course require you to have the model or know the shapes you would need.

If your pockets are deep enough to afford a FW titan, why skimp on transportation? Hire an armed escort to carry it around for you.

Yup, complete with a helicopter hovering nearby to watch the surrounding area.

See if you can get a cheap metal camera case to put it in along with some custom cut foam. That will probably be the cheapest way to do it and still be protected.

The GW monster case works perfectly. Will fit a reaver as well

You just have to make sure you dont join the waist to the upper body; the two halves then easily fit in the monster case.

Alternatively any 2 x 100mm deep pluck foam will work, try Feldherr for the foam. You can then fit thesein standard GW cases.

I didn't really have plans to glue the two halves together cause I like to articulate the joints when I can. So once I get it built I guess I'll be picking up a monster case . that's probably my best option outside of custom foaming it up.

Oh ya, I forgot about those monster cases. Those would work well as long as it is big enough.

i think a lot of it is going to depend on my posing of the model. Once it's all painted and assembled then I'll go looking for a case. thanks for all the help guys
