IF all the races declared a temperaty cease-fire and the Imperium could completely wipe out one of their enemies, which would you kill off and why?

Ignore the impossibility of this happening.

I'd have the Imperium wipe out the Imperium. They're their own worst enemies after all.

If the races declared a ceasefire, the Imperium wouldn't be allowed wipe anyone out.

Arguing with some people is like playing chess with a pigeon. You can play the best chess in the world, but at the end of the day the pigeon will still knock all the pieces off the board and then gak all over it.

This and... the Imperium should instead of fighting to wipe out an enemy focuss on building up I.E. replace astertes losses navy losses stuff like that so when the cease fire ends they are in a much better position to fight

Son you can insult me, you can ambush me, you can even take away my weapons. But if you think im going to step one single pinky toe inside blue base with out my SHOTGUN... you must not know who you dealing with.

QFT.

Kinda takes away the whole point of a cease-fire if you go and attack someone, no? That and I don't see Chaos, Orks, Tryanids, or Necrons agreeing to a cease-fire.

Oh, if thats the case. I'd like to see all Imperium races wiped out. Leave maybe vanilla marines.

Dark eldar or tyranids. I hate dark eldar for being emo space elves but the 'nids seem to be a more real threat to the imperium.

Well, as much as I like Orks, they are the biggest threat to the Imperium. Other good logical options would be Nids and Chaos.

Me as a fan of the game? Tyranids. Definitely tyranids. I don't like their fluff, and I don't like their army.

Interestingly enough, I would hit the Dark Eldar. They are probably the weakest.

I got my doubts. Read the story when 2 space marine chapters (remember Salamanders beeing one of them) joined together to retrive a something the Dark Eldars have stolen and kept it in Commorragh?

1000 Space Marines made orbital strike on Commorrag. They did good at first but it quickly changed to a pure slaughter! 1000 Space Marines could not stand against the city of Commorragh and it's citizens. i don't think Dark Eldar are weak at all. Just spread out acros the galaxy in small pockets of pirate groups.

It's really annyoing i can't remember more of that battle in Commorragh... Maybe i should read it again.

I think whacking the weakest faction is a waste of a good opportunity. If you were given free reign to kill of ANY faction you so chose, then it would make more sense to kill the strongest one. This is likely to be Chaos from the eyes of the Imperium, they have been the biggest thorn in the side of their plans for the past 10,000 years.

Yes, orks are annoying, but with Chaos gone, the Imperium could hold back the tide with a bit more room for breathing.

Then there's the Tyranids, also a logical option. They seem to have consumed much more than our galaxy holds, so they appear to be a massive threat, and probably deserve a good wiping out. That and they have no character, at least compared to most other races (notice I said most.).

The other races are small-fry, barely even worth considering. The Eldar are too scattered, Dark Eldar, though united, are nothing more than a slight irritation in comparison to everything else (Sorry Dark Eldar players). Tau are all cooped up in their tiny corner in Ultima Segmentum, and whilst rapid expansion is underway, they are still too small to be considered a massive threat.

As much as I like the warp-spawned horrors and their mortal servants, I'd have to Say I'd take out Chaos. When I'm in my "loyalist" mood, they seem to me to be the top of a very long list of people we don't like.

If it had to be an enemy? Tau. It seems like someone at GW watched too much gundam wing and decided to make an army out of it.

Other than that I would choose SW because I dislike them

I'd wipe out the nids or the orks...two of the imperiums worst nightmares

But I could really see the Imperium wiping out chaos just for payback.

Tau would be easiest since they're the smallest and slowest, due to their lack of warp travel. Pretty much everyone else is too numerous or can run on back to Space Hell and hide.

One thing nobody has considered:
What happens when the cease-fire ends?
I can't see the other races giving the Imperium time to replenish casualties.

It was a raid, not an invasion. Moreover the SM's got some good hits in against the DE, accomplished their mission (rescuing a Salamanders strike cruiser), the majority of the forces made it out, and the attack by elements from 3 Chapters was considered one of the most destructive events in Commorragh's history.
