So I've recently come back into the 40k fold after being embedded in the trenches of FoW for a while. Ive decided on IG (this will be my first actual army since my foray into Orks as a 12 year old). As a motivator, Ive decided to start this blog on our esteemed forum. This project is going to match up with my friend's effort to assemble a Tyranid force. We're hoping to go head to head in the next few months.

Now, Im not a great painter by any stretch of the imagination, but I do enjoy converting and the other creative aspects of the hobby. I have taken a lot of inspiration from the great showcases on Dakka and Im hoping for some feedback from the community. As you can see, its all quite simplistic I wouldnt call anything I can do higher than TT quality yet.

Ive finished the Infantry blob and PCS for my 1000 pt list. Heres a look at it





Thats the basic scheme for the guardsmen. I used Model Color Grey Green for the pants and guns and US Field Drab for the Shirts. The rest are GW colors.

Here are the two sergeants. Ive decided to add spikes to the helmets of all the officers in resemblance to german pikelhaube helmets. What do you think?

What are your thoughts? Ill be adding fluff on the regiment in a little while. Ive also got a bunch more stuff to do. Stormtroopers, Vets, Chimera, 3 Sentinels and more. Also I might throw in some FoW stands if time permits. Ive got a Bersaglieri company on the way.

Built my CCS. 3 Plasmas (one had to be hacked up from a pistol and lasrifle as I ran out) and a guardsman with the CC.

The model of the commander is an old... something that I picked up from from the 'used minis' shelf at my local FLG. Same with the old sergeant and guardsman with the binoculars. The paint job was already on him. Dont have pics for other guys, for some reason I couldnt get my camera to focus on them. Ill be priming and painting them tomorrow so hopefully I can get some better angles.

Great Color scheme simple and effective.

I like the Sgt with the helmet who is screaming from the snug helmet!
