I just got the worst beat of my life playing GKs on a tourney yesterday, I'd like to think it was due to some horrific luck i had with my dice roll even thou everyone said it was just the more probable outcome when playing CSM vs GK.

Anyway, reading today's post on BoLS regrding draigowing (would have been awesome to read it before my match yesterday) i saw the bullet regarding quicksilver. I though it was cast in the assault phase, however as it is said on the BoLS's article it is in the movement so avoid getting charged, however my question is as follows, if the librarian is engaged in close combat can he still cast it? cause i sure as hell was getting those I10 hits every time it was his turn since i could't kill his entire unit on the charge.

I'm curios to hear what kind of Draigowing (army list) your opponent played.

Even if the unit is in assault there is still a movement phase and the ability can be used

He didn't use Draigowing, the article on BoLS however is all about Draigowing which pretty much applies to all the paladin units out there and this guy only had 1 squad of them, and actually pretty expensive since it had an apothecary and i never allowed them to use the FnP.
