Could anybody give me any tips for using my big mek with shokk attack gun bearing in mind I field a looted wagon as well?

Space Wolves = 2000pts

Don't roll an 5-5 when dropping a template on a nice compact group of genestealers.

Seriously though, attach them to a grot squad, give the Mek a boss pole, set them far in the back, and let the dice gods decide whether it was a good use of points and an HQ slot.

Fire at compact MEQ squads. Remember that your average will be S7, and always AP2. Use that for targetting decisions.

And /expect/ that you'll roll poorly, and the enemy will get to place the template on your boyz mob, killing 15 boyz. That way, if it happens you won't be surprised, and if it doesn't happen, you'll be extra happy.

+1 to bloaterpaste thats the way I have run them when I feel the need for some orky shenanigans . Shokk attack guns can be crazy good or backfire horribly it all depends on the fickle dice gods. I have had games where I cut through grey knight squads and termies laughing with glee, and other games where he teleports himself into said termies and gets crunched horribly. Just don't put them with lootas it seems like it will be a good combo but when that gun backfires or teleports itself then those lootas are screwed.

Might be an idea to field him with a unit of big gunz (either lobbas or kannons, unless you really fancy your chances with the dice gods)

They'd fit in well with your looted wagon if it has a boomgun and he can also fire at targets independently of the big gunz themselves.

(Plus if he rolls badly it'll be grots he's sending screaming into the warp not proppa boyz)

The SAG is good at killing infantry of any kind, no matter of they're terminators or gretchin. Never shoot it at vehicles if you have something else to shoot, the odds of actually doing something to AV12 or up are less than that of a rokkit, even with ordnance 2d6.

Best place to put him is probably a unit of big gunz.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

i guess lobbas are the right choiche for the job, as they practically do the same (kill infanrty). But then again, you could get zzaps for kiling armored stuff, or any atillery as they dont have to shoot the same targets.
But even there lobbas are good; either you shoot light infantry with the sag, for wich the single large blast might not be enough for (30 boys, guardsman, nids....) so there you can have the lobbas held out. if youre going at termies, shoot the lobbas at something else

LOOK!! a shameless self-promotion! (gasp!)
