Why is there so many of them? And what determines which chapter get codex? ( why Blood Angels and not White Scars, why Black Templars and not Imperial Fist? )
Why then some Eldar Craftworld get their own codex? Or Ork Clan, Tau Sept or Tyranid Hive Fleet?

For Emperor and Imperium!!!!

Why is there so many of them?
They sell very well and make GW a lot of money.

And what determines which chapter get codex? ( why Blood Angels and not White Scars, why Black Templars and not Imperial Fist?)

Blood Angels, Black Templars, Dark Angels, and Space Wolves are not very strict with regards to the Codex Astartes for various reasons. They have their own rules, so to speak. Most other chapters stick to the Codex Astartes, and don't really need their own codex.

Why then some Eldar Craftworld get their own codex?

Why? There is so little fluff to go with the Eldar. What differences would there be?

Or Ork Clan?

No reason to. The current Ork codex provides plenty of variation for the different Ork Clans.

Edit: Actually, there is a second Ork Codex. Imperial Armor 8 provides a new Ork Force.

Tau Sept?

Tau don't sell very well, do they? Also, see above answer for Ork.

Tyranid Hive Fleet?

See above answer for Ork.

That was for background, my question is table based.
And that thread included all Imperial factions, my involves only Astartes.

*Skims through the thread I posted*

Nope. Everyone is talking about armies that you play on the table.

*Skims through the thread I posted*

Nope. 90% of that is about space marines.

Sorry. Back on you go to the ignore list. Have a great weekend!

Coa. You're seriously asking this question? Seriously? I've known 2nd graders who can answer these questions. It's simple supply and demand. If people really want something, GW will push it out faster, or make it. Also, Individual Craftworlds can be represented really well with the Eldar Codex. As can the Orks, T'au, SM, Tyranids, CSM, and every other generic codex.

So really, your asking why they don't make something They already make.

Biel Tan uses a bunch of Aspect Warriors. So make an all Aspect Warriors army. You can make it, and it can work very well. They also use Jetbikes/Fast Units a lot, like Saim Hainn.

Perhaps me and Kronk's posts didn't make sense. So I'll try to make it even more clear:

You can make every Army of the race in the book that it's in (Non-Specific).

All that said, I'd love to see the rumor of the Chaos Legions and Chaos Renegades being seperate books come true.

I haven't seen any valid source, nor have my sources said it's true.

For now, you can make renegades from the IA 5, 6, and 7 books, I suppose.

And IA 9. Forgot about the Tyrrant's legion.

A combination of developer pet projects (Space Wolves in 2E) and quick money grabs (Black Templars)

And what determines which chapter get codex? ( why Blood Angels and not White Scars, why Black Templars and not Imperial Fist? )
When GW was smaller? Developer fancy. Now? Income potential. There hasn't been a new one in 6 years, probably won't be another.

Why then some Eldar Craftworld get their own codex? Or Ork Clan, Tau Sept or Tyranid Hive Fleet?
They used to (there was a Codex: Catachans and Craftworld Eldar, etc), but there's no definitive reason why they haven't continued aside from the fact that it takes like, no development resources to do a new SM book.

Realistically they should leave all the variants (BA's, SW's, Chapters, Septs, Legions, Regiments, etc) to Forgeworld and let them go crazy and just have a basic codex for each faction done by GW. Reduce core product development requirements and timelines and allow the niche stuff to do whatever it wants.

That said, many of these armies don't need their own books, lord knows most of the SM books don't (BA's share 80% of their weapons, unit and wargear outright, and of the remaining 20% a large quantity is mere variants) need their own book. A lot of this stuff could easily be encompassed within a single book and much of the wilder stuff has appeared simply to justify the existence of a distinct book.

IRON WITHIN, IRON WITHOUT.

New Heavy Gear Log! Also...Grey Knights!
The correct pronunciation is Imperial Guard and Stormtroopers, "Astra Militarum" and "Tempestus Scions" are something you'll find at Hogwarts.
