I am most pleased you decided to have a look at my new Chaos Marines. Well, they're not THAT new, built and painted them about a month ago.
I'll base them as soon as I've completed the squad (10 men), GW basic basing stuff.

Tried to do some OSL and weathering/combat damage. Hope you like 'em.

So far, the warband does not have a name. I want them to be an Iron Warriors successor, excelling in trench combat and war of attrition, so perhaps I'll incorporate some of these characteristics. Tau are supposed to be their sworn enemies - or perhaps their secret intention is to kill the Emperor and then witness his rebirth as the Starchild, even if that means their destruction and eternal damnation (which is still better than facing a phony bureaucratic pseudo-dictatorship)
I will neither field daemons nor daemon weapons, instead, my men will use archaic weaponry and put trust and faith in their bolters.

Suhweet! I really like the glow blade effect, that's a great job and a well done shot of it!

Also kudos for painting Chaos marines, because that codex is a little dated!

Oh man those guys look great. You are a master of the glow effect and texturing. Keep up the good work!

I really like the shaved head effect. It looks like he took a bic to it the night before. Big fan of the highlights.

Yeah, I know that - but it's not about winning (or even playing), it's more or less just for fun - especially for creating some (in 40k terms reasonable) fluff. I even wrote a few VERY short stories.

Thank you, but that's not entirely true. This is only my second time trying to employ some OSL. And you really can't call that mastery - it'll take a lot of time and practice until such praise might be justified.

The rust is a mixture of a drybrush of Macharius Solar Orange, a spot of Bestial Brown, some tiny stipling of Scorched Brown and a few extremely fine lines of Snakebite Leather :-)

Just wanted to say two things. One, I love them. Two, I paint my regular marines with almost the exact same scheme with the same fluff (trench fighters).

Sorry, a big is a brand of disposable razor here in the US.

Wonderful soft highlights and skintone on those.

For Chaos! Basic black is always a good choice.

Post Heresy is a lot more difficult - I've hardly ever seen good EC myself, and if I did, there was no tutorial around. :-(
