When I hit the "Skip to first unread" for an older thread, it takes me back to Sept 11 (for old threads), or the very beginning for threads newer than that.

Kind of annoying.

I've logged out and back in, but still having the same problem.

I use Firefox.

Anything older than 2 weeks is flagged as being read for efficiency reasons, otherwise the database setup becomes much more hardware intensive.

What I mean to say is that something I looked at today (say, 2 hours ago) and that thread will get a new post. When I click on "Skip to first unread", it goes back 2 weeks, not 2 hours.

Yes. My work computer and home computer.

Ah, that would be why then. You have to click log out when switching between machines for the skip to first unread stuff to work perfectly as there is a known bug there. It'll get fixed one day but it is a low priority one that is annoying to debug

I just noticed it start happening the other day though. Weird.

Hmmm, i skip between home and work too without logging off (i do close the window though) and i dont get this problem....

It only happens when a certain range of variables are in place, not all the time. Logging off and logging on each time takes care of it as a workaround for now for those who are affected.

Ok, then. I'll try it today. I haven't had any problems at work since I logged out earlier.

Are you sure it's not just a mod messing with me? If something weird happens, that's my first thought. I never trust a forum (or its mods) that would have me as a member...
