Here's a Land Speeder Storm I just finished for my small-but-growing BA army... C&C welcome

Well I must say that really is rather superb! Very nicely done! Great weathering and OSL effects. Your army must be one hell of a showcase if its all that good!

Wow, that looks great. Like the base, and the color fades over the decals are really nice.

Are you playing "counts as" for another army? Didn't think Blood Angels could take Storms.

Thank you for the comments guys

@ Myst, I'm just collecting / painting at the moment, haven't played a game yet. If what you say is true this one might have to stay in the display case!

It's not in the codex but i'm sure most of your opponents wouldn't mind you chuckin' it in! I sure wouldn't mind, specially when you've gone through the effort!

Nice job LutherMax! I've got a land speeder storm that's still waiting for assembly and paint for my BA army as well. The LSS isn't a BA legal unit but oh well, it's still a cool looking model.

One criticism I have of the model is to look up some tutorials on doing decals. The decals you applied have visible edges which takes away from the whole paint job. Make sure you put down a gloss coat before applying the decal, then do another gloss coat over it and then dull cote the whole thing. Should then make it seamless. After that, use the airbrush to do some shading and you'll be all set.

Thank you both for your comments

Eggroll, it is indeed a great model – dig yours out and get it done! Re the decals: you're right, they bother me too! I actually used a decal solution system (Microset and Microsol) but I didn't do it correctly on the Speeder itself (I think I had moisture left under the decals and they didn't adhere properly). I did the shoulder pad ones on the scouts later without using any water at all and they came out better, hopefully it shows in this pic:

The looks really Fantastic, I like very very good, the weathering has become great with the rubbings to the metal. As I get myself straight loss and buy one and paint.

2 small points of criticism I would have the chainsaw sword and bolter I personally would not even now painted red but more yellow or even black. But otherwise, just working class

Thank you for your comments corbulo. I did originally plan to paint the weapons black/grey like the heavy bolter on the front, but somehow liked the look of them red so left them like that.
However when I put all the scouts into the Speeder I did think it was maybe a bit too much red!

I liked the red better then when it's come full in order, first and foremost one must own the fallen
The red is also really something that is a really nice red, like the lack siend damage caused?

Fantastic colors and very clean paint work. The red is a great tone. Like some have mentioned, BA's cant use the storm, so this will either have to be a counts-as landspeeder or just be a nice display piece. Great work!
