Here's my first attempt, EVER, at painting something. constructive criticism welcomed!

Crappy photos are crappy... This is the only one that turned out remotely good

It's pretty hard to comment or offer advice on the painting given the photo. Perhaps you could take a few clearer photos so that we can get a better look?

The photo still isn't great.

I think you should concentrate on getting nice neat base colours down before you try anything else.
Focus on getting all the paint in the right areas and in nice thin coats. Make sure one layer is dry before you go back over it (which shouldn't be a problem if your coats of paint are thin).

You might consider attaching his base to something so that you don't have to touch the model itself as you paint. Tacking it to an old lid with hot glue can be a cheap solution.

Once you've got patient, neat coats of paint down there are a lot of easy and quick shading/highlighting option you can employ.

I know the photo is horrible, I'm doing the best I can with the old camera I'm using.
Thanks for the advice... I shall try those things in the future.
Now for more bad photos of bad paint jobs...

try macro mode if your camera has one, will help with the lack of focus.

Also put a piece of paper or card behind them just to get rid of the other bits in your pics

If these were mine I would...paint your bases brown like graveyard earth or scorched brown. paint devlin mud over the silver on the guns.. it will age the metal and make them look worn.. paint the teeth like white or bleached bone tith with white tips.'' good luck

hey nice color scheme but don't think that you need to stick with it cause ork waaaghs contain lots of diffrent clans

True but I really like the death skulls... I'll definitely vary it though, these are just my first few models and I'm just trying to get the hang of really basic painting techniques...

also, my failure to paint the teeth is a result on my being a bit short on teef to buy paint with.
