Subject: Blood angels advice

so i was thinking of starting blood angels and would like some advice
this was the list i was thinking of
i dont know how many points this is
5 sanguinary guard to jump down and assasinate things or just jump across the board to kill things
10 death company with 5 power weapons in a rhino with extra armor
10 normal guys with flamer and missile laucher and a razor back
and a vindicator
and then an hq...i dont know which...i was thinking someone with good close combat and a jump pack
i dont know the codex and i would like to get into the army
any advice would be helpfull and appreciated

Toss Dante in there and you got sang guards as troops and the list is legal.
I'd say your looking at 900ish points depending on how you deck stuff out.
Edit: oops! skipped 10 normal guys with rback!
I'd say go with 5 Assault Marines and drop packs to discount Rback.

The list is currently legal. the 10 normal guys with flamer and missile laucher is not a good unit. Either they are horde hunters with a flamer, or they are tank killers with the missile launcher, do not give them both Also, the Assault Marines are a better choice, since they get discounted transports. Also, the Death company are really tough to use well. For the same exact cost you can get 10 Vanguard vets set up with 5 power swords in a rhino. But I would just get 10 assault marines with a fist in a rhino and 2 meltaguns, its a cheaper unit and will do about the same damage. For a HQ choice I use a Librarian in terminator armor, and a storm shield, accompanied by 5 assault terminators, either in a storm raven, or a land raider.

Keep the squads at 10 so you can get 2 special weapons.
Storm Raven would be better than LR if you are going along with the jump pack thing.
Though with either transport option you ideally want at least two of the same kind.
Mainly you have to figure out whether you want to do mech, or jump infantry.

I've never been a fan of the Sanguinary Guard and Dante. They are both incredibly overcosted. Dante is only good for his ability to DS anywhere on the field and not scatter. As cool as that ability is its not worth 250 points. Also look at Assault Terminators. For 200 Points you can get Assault Terminators who have Invul Saves over Sanguinary Guard who have no Invul and easily die to AP2 firepower which this game is filled with. Sanguinary Guard are a waste imo. If you already have the models I'd kitbash them with the Assault Marine kit that way you can have some amazing looking Assault Marines.

The Honor Guard squad is much better than Sanguinary Guards. You can kit them out for just about anything and they come with a Sanguinary Novitiate.

The problem with your list there is that Death Company aren't scoring. You'd be dead in objective games. I would get the battleforce, an HQ model, and the codex and start from there. With the battleforce you can make a 10 man assault squad (mix and match bits from Death Company and assault Marines squads) and a tactical squad in a fast rhino. If you could get a librarian and give him a jump pack you'd have a nice start to your army.

That wouldn't be terrible, but one missile launcher isn't usually gonna make a whole hell of a lot of difference. An army this fast is suited better to just move as fast and as far as they can, wipe the enemy off their objectives, and hold the midfield.
