Unhealthy Competition With Other Legions

My favorite part of 40k is painting (see my blog for 10+ completed armies) and I'm thinking of starting a Nid army   I am a putz so my first priority is models and avoiding that tangle of claws I see players have to mess around with when they set up 20 termagants or 25 hormagaunts.  I know they are great units, but bear with me.  I do love all the monstrous creatures models though.  And for some reason I find ripper swarms... cute.  So what I am looking for here is not so much an assessment of the list, but predictions for what sort of performance I can expect from these units:

Tyrant with TL Devourer & brain thingys. Adrenal glands, armored shell
Tyranid Prime (to boost this unit or spread elsewhere for more synapse), whip & sword, adrenal glands
2 guard to soak wounds

5 Warriors with whips, swords, talons & adrenal glands

2 carnifexes with 2 TL devours with brainthingys each.  Really want to keep this unit because it shoots so much.

2 Trygons or 1 and 1 Mawloc

2 or more ripper swarms.  Really want to keep these units because I like the idea, but am most interested in what people think about these little critters.  Especially if it is worth it to give one unit TL spine fists:  that would give me 36 TL S3 12" shots.  Quick mathhammer says 12 hits the first time, 8 more with TL, 20 total, 6 wounds against T4... wait, is that really good or really bad?  Anyhow that comes from 27 wounds so might stick around for awhile.

I'll add more ripper swarms as the points go up.

Lose the Adrenal Glands. Are you losing the LW/BS?

Again, the AG aren't really worth it. Also, if he's going to stick here, why doesn't he have a gun? Drop the ScyTals, pick up a deathspitter at least.
2 guard to soak wounds

Give them lash whips as well.

Nice beginning to a deathstar

To be honest, these guys are going to die. Quickly. Since they have to get into CC to be useful...

No objections. Lots of people dislike fexen, but I have a soft spot for them.

2 Trygons or 1 and 1 Mawloc

Always a good plan.

27 wounds might sound decent, but blast templates (of which there's a lot of these days) do two wounds per hit. I'm down with the list for fun though, so what about something like this?

Use Hive Commander to outflank the Warriors to try and get them into combat. You're *really* light on anti-tank (like... none) outside of CC, so that'll be most of your challenge.

Keep the Rippers in cover the entire way up the field. That's the only way they'll survive.

Sweet- thanks! Did not even think about the outflank ability.

Also, I forgot to mention that the only scoring unit you have is the warriors, so that will cause issues as well.

Someone recommended I add the Parasite which I think I will trade out the prime for fluff sake.

Why are rippers not scoring?

Oh that's right. Duh on my part. I really like the idea of running alot of Rippers so I'll try it. I also am plannning a Death Company list so my objective grabbing will be limited there also.
