I just sort of wondered this after looking at the "Orks are Ld 30?" thread.
I don't have a rulebook nearby so I guess I'll ask here.
Does Attacks count as a characteristic capped at max 10? Mostly wondering because I tried Lelith yesterday.

Also, on an unrelated note, I beat the Guard Parking Lot of Terror by 6 KP with Dark Mechdar yesterday and she helped.

no you are not . for example if your statline was 10 attacks and you charged you have 11 attacks and hence roll 11 dice, the max you basic statline can be is 10 but bonus and special rules can take it over 10.

There's a subtle difference in terms here. A model's Attacks characteristic (i.e. what's on the profile) cannot exceed 10. However, bonus attacks, such as from weapons, special rules, charging, and so forth can cause the effective number of attacks that a model makes in combat to exceed the normal value of 10.

For example, a fictitious model with 10 base attacks (and no weapons) would make 11 close combat attacks when charging. However, it would NOT benefit from wargear such as banners that "grant +1 to the Attack characteristic" (or similar wording), as the model has reached the "max stat" so to speak.

For example a Chaos Lord of Khorne has 3 base attacks. +1 for Mark of Khorne, +1 if mounted on Juggernaut. Using the Khorne Daemon Weapon he can gain an additional 2d6 attacks giving him a maximum 18 attacks on the charge.

Math says that 3+1+1+12(Max roll on 2d6) = 17, not 18

That is because you didn't have a +1 for assaulting in there. You mention charging, but no +1 for assaulting, you should have been more complete.

Saga of the Warrir IIRC allows attacks to get over 10 fairly easily to
