I’d personally go with the traitor guard idea. Traitor guard wearing rebreather masks alongside robed heretics. Miniature wise you’d probably want to check out third party sites for rebreather masks unless you can afford the Forgeworld traitor guard kits. The chain accessories from the WHFB marauder sprue would be cheap and affective way to chaosify the unit.

why not just customise some SM scouts. swap the heads and add some GS bits. a chaos shoulder pad here or there over the exisiting scout one would probably be ok.
