Ok so i haven't played in a while but seeing as how there is a new codex & rulebook coming out this is as good a time as any to start back up. I would like to make a semi competitive list in the sense that i would like for it to be decent to compete with but still fun to use. Please let me know how Im doing here.

I would say put meltas in your squads because they do better against tanks.

My list with nurgle consist of 2 demon prince mark of nurgle.

6x squad of 5 plage marine 2x melta

2x 5 nurgle warbikers.

What you could do is drop the 10 bikes from my list and add your termis.

chosen are not that good because 4 melta only can pop 1 tank then they will probably die

No, you don't need two. The guy who won my local tourney last weekend didn't have two princes. I am a big fan of full squads, so I'd run ten man squads of Plague Marines, but that's just personal preference and I don't actually play Chaos so they may work better in groups of six or seven for all I know.

7 is the ritual number of Nurgle, just like 8 for Khorne, 9 for Tzeentch and 6 for Slannesh as fluff would like.

10 Marines are quitely a more valuable team but thanks to the free Feel No Pain 7 Plague Marines works almost in the same way.

To the OP, you talked about a new codex. Where did you find this info?

Anyway. If you want a Fluff list there are a lot of solutions that includes models and carachters not exactly competitive but background-wise really on theme. IE Dreadnoughts and Defilers.

If instead you want to play something competitive you should look at minimom 3 teams of Plagues in Rhinos (eventually 2 sq. of Plagues and 1 of regular Chaos Marines), at least 1 Daemon Prince, 1 Greater Daemon, Obliterators, Melta Raptors and with the spare pts some 3x suiside -melta Termi.

A fluff-wise and still actually playable list I run usually looks at something like this:

- Champion with PW/TL Bolter;
- PW - Combi-melta;
- CF - Combi-melta;

It's a just-for-fun list that we use in our "themed" campaigns here in my FLS but it showed some competitive chance.

For a more competitive setup at 1850 pts (I usually play at 2000) I advice you something like this:

now let me ask you why not include the power fist on the champion? it seems like taking away a crucial counter ability incase you run into combat with something big

Ok Well, demon prince is the best HQ choice you can have.

So for competitive list they work the best.

What you can do is try this list out.

What about something like this. I have taken out some things and added others i feel like this can be pretty well rounded given possible enemies.
I know i am lacking in the speedy units factor but im not exactly sure how important that is with a force that is T5 and mostly mounted. If speed is more important should i drop the raider& vindi to bring in some bikes or raptors?

A better list than the first. If your doing competitive with the current Dex your practically forced to throw fluff out the window. The main reason is morale issues because Chaose does not have 'And they shall know no fear', meaning /every/ non-vehicle unit choice that is not Fearless can run when shot. So bikes, terminators, chosen, Raptors, ect... pretty much are used as suicide troops where you DP them in and hope they kill something before running away like little girls or used for 'demon bomb' lists.

To be frank... drop the LR. Can't split fire and is a single target. You either need to run 2 LRs in the hope one survives to get close enough or run none and DS your terminators in a suicide drop. Drop the MoN from the terminators and go MoCG. Go 2 units of 3, with combi-meltas for all of them. Drop the Fists because your not going to live long enough to get in CC.

Use the points to get another Oblit, go two units of 2 (due to morale issues). The Vindicator is OK, better in say a Lash list due tot he pie plate and short range, but it can still do it's damage. If your using it for anti-infantry, consider adding on a Havoc launcher.

I personally liked your PMs from your first list. Keep them at 7 or 6 guys and add a combi-melta to your rhinos. If you have the points, add in a 4th PM squad to rear objective camp. I like Havoc launchers on rear campers due to the range and just some added fire power.

Yes, two DPs are considered competitive for the same reason I listed two Land Raiders. You have a better chance of one of them living long enough to get up in CC with Warptime.

Main problem with this Dex is it is over priced and under powered, with really only a few combinations of units to make a playable list. When 6th ed comes out I can only hope it is at least 'comparible' to the Vannilla marine codex. You know there are issues when IG can bring 12 TLed Lascannons to the table for 495pts (due to Orders and Vendettas) and Chaos can not even touch that amount of fire power.

a PF on a Plague Marine Champion will cost you 23+15+25.
Actually a little too much to me for a unit that would avoid CC in any possible way.

Champions are there just and only for the Greater Daemon. In this case yes, a very strong unit that once deployed by summoning (in with the team still in his Rhino just out of it keeping safe that unit) could immediately and competently assault.

So, if we just want to look the prices mathematically, instead of upgrading in melee 3 model spending 63 pts each (even 78 pts if with a Plasma Pistol!!!!!), I absolutely prefer to virtually spend 45 pts on real CC model.
