Sup, seems stormtroopers and psykers w/chimera are pretty even points wise, is there any reason to go with stormtroopers over strength 10 ordinance? I can't think of one. In fact i see no reason not to have several squads of psykers, even without chimeras it'll give your enemy something to aim at instead of Leman Russes.
Regarding commissars, since i only really use veteran squads i can't think of a reason to have a commissar. All they do is make platoons slightly less useless at great additional cost.
Also, with veteran squads am i better with 3 meltaguns or 3 plasma guns? On the one hand meltaguns obliterate vehicles, on the other the 12" range limits their use. Though "Gets Hot!" sucks ass.
One final question, are Blood Angels over-powered? My oponent today had an army that was entirely fearless and WS5, as well as the pisstakingly overpowered dreadnaught. I'm tempted to refuse playing against them.

In no particular order;

Psyker Battle Squads can only be S9 when at full strenght, as the overseer is not a psyker.

Commissars are largely useless for vets, but excellent and a necessity in foot lists. They are what makes foot lists viable, and viable they are.

Take an even mix of melta and plasma vets. Don't mix the special weapons, but take two plasma squads and two melta squads.

Blood Angels are a very strong codex. What you played against was Death Company I imagine. If it was only death company, remember that they can't score, so in an objective game, they're automatically going for a tie at best. Never refuse a game, just learn to deal with them. Plasma and melta kills all marines the same.
