I really want to get another army, but I can't decide on what to get. I have no interest in Space Marines. The only models that look good to me and that I enjoyed painting were Grey Knight Terminators.

-I love the look of a lot Imperial Guard items, primarily Kasrkin, Valkyries, Leman Russes, and most of their artillery pieces. Death Korps troops look brilliant, but they are obscenely expensive.

-Sisters of Battle were my first army and I am interested in getting them again, but getting them now and having plastics come out within a year or two would be a kick to the nads. The current models are decent, but awfully static. Painting 70+ Sisters would be a chore.

-I have some Dark Eldar and I could always expand on them. I am somewhat tempted to build up a Haemonculi WWP force because I really like the looks of those models, but I doubt such a lists viability at a competitive level and have honestly no idea how to play it.

-I was hoping to see info on Necrons this weekend, but that didn't pan out. I don't if should just wait for the new codex to come out or look elsewhere.

Edit: I forgot to mention that an Inquisitorial Henchmen army looks interesting and fun and has a lot of room for conversions and non GW models.


Basically what I'm looking for is an army that would be fun to paint, fun to play, and be competitive. Something around 1500-1750 points would be fine for now.

Any advice?

Do a DIY chapter of blood angels or Space wolves, that way you do not get the monotony of ultras.
