Hi,
i have a huge pile of old roco 1:87 minitanks and wanted to know if they fit the 15mm scale tanks of flames of war? Is the difference in size notable? Is proxying like that among flames of war players acceptable or frowned upon?

Thanks in advance and best regards
alex

Usually 15mm stuff is 1:100, so the HO/1:87 is a little big. Having said that, many newer 15mm infantry figures, especially once on bases, don't look bad with 1:87 stuff.

I'm not a FOW player but use 15mm for moderns, and use a lot of HO scale civilian vehicles and had a couple HO Bradleys.

The black truck in the following picture is HO scale:

Here is the HO Bradleys followed by a line drawing to see how they should compare with a human:

And here is an actual 15mm Bradley (about 1:100):

Hope that helps a little.

Jake

I suspect the key thing for you will be the reaction of the folks you end up playing FOW with to your use of a different scale. I hope that works out for you. No reason it shouldn't.

You may have to allow for some adjustments in measuring and arty template use since your vehicles will occupy more ground space, but that should be workable.
