Running a mech list, I naturally need a ****-ton of special weapons for my vet squads, and that's an issue. The plasma isn't difficult, as that comes with the sets, but I don't think the melta comes in anything but the command squad kit, and that's only one. So, are there any sets I can convert from that come with plenty of meltas, a way to convert something like a flamer to a melta, or am I just stuck buying the plasma/melta figures from GW?

5 Meltas, 8 bucks. Not going to find them much cheaper. If you want, you can cut the melta tips off and replace the tips on the flamers that come with Cadians.

I use spare "exhaust" nozzles from Cod scenery (they are on the low wall sections - you get the pyramidal lighting spikes and these things as well) glued to modified flamers.

While we're here, I might as well ask if there are any good ways to get camo cloaks for guard. I was thinking about buying a box or two of WE Glade Guard and using those cloaks, but I think they come attached to the bodies.

Nah the cloaks are separate. Though making green stuff cloaks is pretty easy, and would be cheaper considering you dont have much use for the GG bodies (they are quite a bit smaller than guardsmen) And without the cloaks i cant see them having a great resale value.

If you find yourself needing to make plasma guns: take a bolter, carve out the middle section over the grip, replace with GS'd heatsink (impossible to mess up), and add an IG flamer nozzle where the bolter barrell is. Drill out a hole large enough to look convincing. Then replace the bolter mag with a lasgun clip, or add the las-gun clip at the back of the bolter (fuel cell). Done.

Dude... thats a fool proof way to get more plasma guns. Awesome.
