Hello, i am new to Dakka Dakka and relatively new to Warhammer 40k, my friend introduced me to it and was automatically hooked, having played videos games all my life and loving fantasy and sci-fi things.
I was searching google for this question but couldnt find an adequate response and instead found a delightful forum dedicated to Warhammer 40k, Dakka Dakka.
So here is my Question: will using kerosene as paint remover damage my models?
Any response will be greatly appreciated.

If they are plastic, probably.

I definitely wouldn't try it on plastic models.
I wouldn't hesitate to test it on metal models, but I'd start with a small batch (not because I'd be worried about the model, but simply because the kerosene might not work as well as other strippers, and I wouldn't want to have to clean up a huge batch of models just to have to strip them again in something else)

Ok thank you guys. A friend of mine suggested Methylated spirits and it does seem to work.

I think the best stuff you can get is either Simple Green or neat Dettol
they're both surface cleaners you can buy in the shop, i think you should be find getting dettol over there, don't they use it on cane toads?
never had a prob with it melting or making plastics soft and you won't loose your face if a spark falls into it like kerosine

If you are using stuff like kerosene, you shouldn't be anywhere near a source of sparks - just due to common sense.
That said, I do know of a guy who cleans his lawnmower engine while he smokes a ciggy. He has no eyebrows.
