Ok, i am getting these rules from the FW Renegades PDF so there may be a more recent version of them (if so please let me know what book they are in)

The Dreadclaw is listed as a Flyer but the actual deployment rules are a bit ambiguous:

1)
"Deploying the Dreadclaw
The Dreadclaw and any unit assigned to be transported by it
will always begin the game in Reserve. When the Dreadclaw
becomes available from Reserve, it is deployed using the
Drop Pod rules."

and then right next to this:

2)
"Dreadclaw
A Dreadclaw enters play just like other aircraft, arriving from
Reserve and being placed anywhere on the table. Next turn
it may move anywhere on the table, but at a minimum of 36"
and lands. Place the Dreadclaw where you want it to land
and then roll a Scatter dice. On a Hit, it is on target, on an
arrow it deviates D6". Once on the ground the Dreadclaw
opens and those within may deploy as if from a moving
open-topped vehicle."

So......does it enter on turn 2 (for example) them move 36" and in turn 3 land using the Drop Pod rules? (scatter then minus distance for a safe landing) or does it deploy and scatter 6" as described in the second statement.

Has anyone here ever used one in a game? If so what rules did you use?

Also, as it is a Flyer and does not "technically" deep strike, can the units assault out of it on the turn it lands as it is Open Topped? And if it counts as flyer does that mean it can be shot down when it is flyign towards the landing site?

If you are using those rules, then Yes.
They have, however, updated the rules in IA:Apoc 2nd edition, so they work entirely differently
One effect being it is no longer open topped for disembarking, meaning you lose the ability to charge

Arse. Is that the new book that's just come out? A friend of mine bought it at GD but i only had chance to flick through and look at the Chaos Comtemptor Dread rules.

I am going to try and convert one from a normal SM Pod. Wont be great but it will be cheap(..er than buying the FW model).
