So apparently I am the only person who plays Mid War and built an army for it. Everyone else either does Late or Early. I was wondering what the best book would be to purchase for building a Fallschirmjäger list. Sugestions (preferably with reasons) would be great. Also are they in any Early war books or is there just the new North Africa book they came out with - I'm still relatively new to Flames.

DukeRustfield - There's nothing wrong with beer and pretzels. I'm pretty sure they are the most important members of the food group.

A friend of mine plays Fallschirmjagers from the Earth & Steel compilation book. I wrote in to one of the guys at WWPD, asking what would be a good 1000 pt army (we were just starting at the time, and all he had were the two StuGs from the Open Fire! set:

"StuGs are a great start for FJ support. First things first, he will need 2 full FJ platoons to start, ideally you want 3 with the third able to act as pioneers. Next thing to consider is smoke generation, FJs love to assault, and to get close they need smoke. Cheapest option is to do a platoon of 8cm mortars. Best part about the 8 cm mortars is that as the army grows instead of using them as a platoon you can have a few as a HQ attachment. So recap, StuGs good, pick up two packs of FJs, also get the mortar platoon blister, and a FJ HQ blister."

I'll also stick a post over on the FoW forums, and bring their replies over here.

Success!

"cassino is great for elite FJ units and as a def. player"

I'm guessing that first item should be Hell's Highway...

Burning Empires will be released next month.
