Is walking Vulkan & 10 terminators across the board or deepstriking a terminator unit that takes up 1/3 of my points just stupid? I'm kind of excited to try out this whole death star thing all you cool kids on the intarwebnetz keep talking about.

At this points range yes that is too much. 10 or more termies at 1500pts means deathwing only.

10 SS/TH are an excellent shield if you have an army that moves 6'' so a MotF dread army for example. Also if you know the enemy they can be a good meat shield against tyranids if you are sitting back and shooting.
