Hey all, im currently turning my eldar army into an Alaitoc army which will closely be linked with a huge number of Eldar pirates and corsairs (more into that when fluff has been written up,s still in early stages)

However i wanted to turn my guardians into corsairs and pirates, but obviously i cant edit the armament of the model due to being used as guardians, and the whole wysiwyg rule.

So i was thinking (as i have loads of tyranid bits and space marine bits around) i could maybe place bits of tyranids and space marines on the bases sort of thing.

I want to do it a cheap way, and that will still make my models legal for things such as tournies etc. I do have some milliput and was thinking of maybe making banner poles (which il put as dtachable for friendly games v tournie games) and maybe musician equipment as thats what they had back when they were released (of course on the base not the model)

So what would you all say to this? think it will work?

And for those of you who dont know, the eldar pirates and corsairs at time have used other races weaponary so thats why i want to do it like that lol

C+C please

It'll be easier to critique once we've seen a picture of what you mean, my initial thoughts would be body parts on a base & banner poles do not necessarily make pirates... Have you thought about anything else? Have you checked out the corsair models that FW do?

I cant add any pics as dont wanna start it without being sure first.

I see what you mean in regards to the base n body mix etc so i was thinking il defently add a banner pole in each squad just becuase thats something that guardians dont have / do.

After revisiting the current corsair models i actually have gotten to like them, but obviously cant add wings to guaridans as dont fit game terms, so im gonna stick with the funky paint schemes on the helmets etc like they used to have.

Thanks for showing interest

No worries man, I'd be tempted to research (real) pirate history and take some influence from there, be it colour scheme, something that could influence your play style / model collection etc.

You could always mix and match body parts from the de too, who are the pirates of the 40k universe
