So, here's the deal-
You win combat, you get to reform. You lose, you can reform on a Ld test. Okay.
You win combat via killing all of the enemy...you get to reform? Then Overrun?
I never really gave it much thought; playing mostly Skaven hordes, I rarely take my enemy down to the man. But it came up in my last game, and we couldn't find much about it at the time. So we just kept the game going. And I've been too busy with work to actually look it up m'self, so...how does this actually work?
Thanks everyone.

If you kill the entire unit in the first round, you have to choose between over-running and reforming. You have to test to restrain, IIRC, in order to reform though. If you wipe the unit entirely in subsequent rounds, you don't have the option to over-run, just a free reform.

A quote with a page number, as always, would be ideal.
And yes, Overrun is only on the charge. Got that part.

P57 "A unit that restrains can reform" - this is before the Pursuers section, which covers any unit that is not restrained.

I thought the rules were something like: I win combat, but I remain engaged in combat, I get to reform.
As opposed to: I win combat, I get to reform.
The difference being that if you wipe out the entire enemy unit (or the enemy unit breaks from combat) you don't get to both reform and overrun/pursue. Instead, when the enemy is wiped out (on the first round) or breaks from combat, you have the option to either reform or overrun/pursue.
I don't have my rulesbook with me to verify this though.

Well...Nosferatu pretty much covered that one. I assume that section also includes some info. on units getting to reform instead of Overrun, seeing as how they don't need to test to stay put.
Thanks everyone.

Actually that section isnt as complete as youd think - that section ONLY deals with Pursuit, and there is no longer the 7th ed text about not needing to test to stay put. However test to Restrain is only mentioned when there is a unit to pursue....
