Hi, am I missing something? Been looking forward to some Necron news today but none so far!

It was my understanding that Aus Games Day was today, cant find any coverage or pictures.

And I thought WD came out today too, anyone seen if there is a preview at the back?

I have had a flick through Oct's White dwarf, full of dread fleet. All back pages dreadfleet, not even a teaser about next months White dwarf and it's contents. Aus gamesday news is non existent, I think anyone who went has been seized by the Inquistion as part of GWs new marketing strategy...

GD UK wasn't good enough to reveal necron news. It was naive to assume GD OZ was better.
Several threads confirmed that there is no preview in WD October.
GW doesn't believe in marketing and is fine with decreasing sales and customer numbers as long as chairman Tom Kirby can drain the company by more than 1 Mio pound per year. And the major stock holder Tom Kirby approves.

At one of the meetings with the studio staff at GDUK they said the current marketing strategy (IE - say nothing til the product comes out) was an experiment, and if it proved unpopular they'd stop it. That's the biggest bit of news I read from it.

Thats so stupid! I could understand if there was a company out there that would steal the idea and release 'Robotcons' or whatever. But to hide all info from customers is just utter stupid.

So does that mean that they're dropping it? Cause it seems to be extremely unpopular.

To everyone here it may be unpopular, but if the initial sales are way higher then it means that it works and they'll keep doing it.

Not everyone thinks about what they buy. With GW taking away the ability for "dumb handlers" to tell them what is good or not the amount of impulse buys will be high, and thats the entire point is to have an super big initial sale, because afterword it always drops anyway.

The point is, dont buy it on release day.... but lets face it, that wont happen

Weren’t GW supposed to be committed towards putting more meaningful content in the magazine? Judging from this months WD, it seems like WD has more or less shifted back to catalogue dish rag status. So the new direction only lasted 1 month?
